Americans on cricket
Here is a report in the Wall Street Journal about the friction between T20 and test cricket. Always interesting to read the views of someone on the outside looking in, and this is reasonably balanced.
Ultimately, whatever we think of T20 it is rapidly becoming the big thing in cricket. Money will always talk.
Personally, I enjoy the cricketing drama on show, although not the showbiz side of things. But I prefer the longer format as long as it is of good quality, and that is the problem that we currently face.
For a number of reasons, test cricket currently is not as of high a standard as it once was, and England have not been producing world class players regularly for decades. This makes it harder to enjoy test cricket, whereas in T20 it is easier to paper over the cracks as the difference between a good team and an average team is less obvious.
