Cricket Australia shows ECB the way to go
Cricket Australia has done something revolutionary. It has stood up to player power. I know, I know, we can all hear the sound of hands being clapped to mouths throughout the ECB offices and the savage intake of collective breaths.
With their limited-overs series with Pakistan in Dubai now complete, two of the Australian squad – Nathan Bracken and James Hopes – have been ordered (not requested, ordered) to rest before the World T20.
If only the ECB were paying attention (they weren’t) then it might teach them a thing or two about maintaining the primacy of the test team over crude circuses.
