Flintoff injured in IPL
It had to happen. Just one day after we questioned the value of Flintoff’s IPL performances so far as preparation for the summer internationals, it is announced that Freddie is injured, needs an operation and will miss the West Indies series.
At least it gives everyone the opportunity to say I told you so.
Flintoff’s injury list is growing at a rather alarming rate, and I wonder how much longer he can continue to perform in all forms of the game. The test side tends to get better results when he is not in the side, at least in recent history, so perhaps he should be asked to stick to the limited overs formats from now on to reduce the strain he is under.
Of course, such a suggestion will probably be anathema to…well, everyone…
