Sussex reach semi final

Many had written off Sussex Sharks’ season before it had even begun.  Today they reached the semi-final of the Friends Provident Trophy, beating Somerset by six wickets to continue their recent improved form.

Despite a century by Craig Kieswetter, Sussex reached their target of 286 with 5 balls to spare, mainly thanks to Murray Goodwin’s 93.  Ed Joyce with 74 and Mike Yardy with 57 not out also made substantial contributions.

This makes us feel much better, as we had feared the worst after their poor start to the season in April.
