The Ashes: England ready to go Back to the Future

As the legendary Marty McFly once philosophised:

If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.

This will be the attitude of England’s handy Andys (Flower and Strauss) when they contemplate the possibility of having to win the Ashes without either Kevin Pietersen or their other, even handier Andy Flintoff.

To which you might be excused for responding:

Great Scott!

Both Pietersen and Flintoff are to see specialists regarding their respective injuries before a decision is made about their participation in the 3rd Test at Edgbaston.  Pietersen limped his way around Lord’s for five days, while Flintoff charged in regardless as if he were the entire Light Brigade encompassed within one individual.

Ricky “Biff Tannen” Ponting confirmed he would be delighted to see the back of Flintoff in particular:

Why don’t you make like a tree, and get out of here?

If the worst were to happen, Ian Bell and Steve Harmison will likely be called in.  So not so much back to the future as just plain old back.  I had to justify the quotes somehow though…
