The Ashes: Just how bad is KP’s achilles?

It seemed through parts of his tortured innings yesterday that KP could barely walk, let alone run.  The achilles injury that he has been nursing all summer looks to be in danger of limiting his participation in the rest of the Ashes.

Evidently he has had all of the injections he is allowed, so it is hard to see how he can continue to cope, and his batting is clearly limited.

Would England be better served by letting him have the recovery time he needs by not selecting him for the next Tests?  Or is a half-fit KP still a better choice than Ian Bell?

Many would say that leaving him out gives Australia a psychological boost, but then seeing the opposition’s best batsman hobbling about with an inhibited technique surely makes them feel good about getting his wicket pretty cheaply.
