The Ashes: Wigley decides Ashes fate
David Wigley has apparantly had the defining say in the course of the Ashes series. A ridiculous story on the Telegraph website goes on to say that Wigley “reprised the Stephen Harmison role” by aiming the ball at various outfielders. Or that he got Phillip Hughes out, I don’t recall.
Then he let Shane Watson have a few more easy runs to ease him into the side at Hughes expense. A slight problem with this angle was highlighted by Cricket with balls.
That Watson was able to crash “five successive fours off Wigley” says more about Wigley’s Ashes prospects than it does Watson’s.
Expect Hughes to retain his place in the side at Edgbaston.
