Some changes on the site
You might have already noticed some changes to the look and feel of the site. It’s nothing drastic, but I hope that it will mean that I can publish more frequently, and also achieve a better variety of content.
So from now on there will be Features – longer articles and analysis, including on-going series such as Dream Teams – and there will be News & Notes – shorter articles concentrating on current matches and newsworthy stories. As you can see, these are presented differently across the site from the home page onwards – features are presented with an image as before, whereas News & Notes display an excerpt from the article. There is a separate archive for each type, but the main category archives will include both types of article.
What’s the reason for the change? Well, as much as I love writing the longer pieces, and I really like the idea of presenting them with a hi-res image loosely related to the post, it does slow down the rate at which I can produce them. Sourcing relevant images that don’t cost more than an IPL bowling attack is no easy task.
This way I can publish shorter articles in between the longer ones, meaning you get more content and I get to write more. The best of both worlds, I hope you’ll agree.
Anyway, I hope you like the changes and the extra content coming your way soon. If you have any feedback you’d like to pass on, you can do so either by commenting on this post, by email or by using the Twitter & Facebook links below. Enjoy!
