Luke Wells makes a splash

A fourth innings run chase is a pretty good time to make your mark for the first time at any level of cricket. Having been thrashed by Lancashire in their opening fixture, as is their habit against the Red Rose, Sussex were staring down the barrel again at Chester-le-Street, facing a target of 309 and without key batsmen like Mike Yardy, Matt Prior and Luke Wright.
