Ponting bucks the trend

The trend recently is of players retiring from Test cricket to prolong their Twenty20 careers, or at least professing a preference for the format limited in length but unlimited in financial inducement. The Ashes: Flimsy Aussie excuses

With Australia now trailing in the Ashes, the flimsy excuses have started to show their acne-ridden faces. An angry Punter

At one point in England’s desparate rear-guard yesterday evening, the 12th man appeared with a message for Anderson and Panesar. The next over, he appeared again with some replacement gloves for one of the batsman. Then, the physio appeared on the pitch.

Sussex pose problems for Australians

Australia chalked up 349-7 at Hove today, but had their lower order to thank for it as the top order did not perform.

Brad Haddin talks nonsense

We’ve done a lot of loading while we were up there. We’ve had some pretty intense days. It’s been good. We’ve given our quicks and everyone else a chance to get outside in some outstanding conditions. We got a lot of volume now.
